(Part 1) Yin: The Sweetness of Giving In

This slow, quiet, nurturing practice facilitates a profound inner relaxation, rebalancing the energies of the body and serving as a beautiful complement to faster-paced yang-style classes. The yin practice targets the connective tissue of the body – the tendons, ligaments, and fascia – using longer holds to open you up to a whole new realm of flexibility. Students are invited to go inward and to bear witness to what is happening inside with curiosity and compassion. Bathe in the sound of crystal singing bowls as you rest deeply in savasana.

(Part 2) Yang: Freedom Through Tapas

When we give ourselves permission to back off and to come out of an experience that is challenging or uncomfortable, we often discover that we actually want to stay, to step into the unknown, and to discover what we are capable of. I think of tapas as our staying power – fueled by curiosity and by its own unending rewards. Vinyasa yoga is a powerful practice for waking up the natural joy in our bodies, dissolving resistances, and propelling us forward on our journey to health, peace and vibrant living.

All levels are welcomed and encouraged. Both classes will begin with a brief discussion followed by a two-hour practice.
